To enable and empower adults with a learning disability to reach their full potential by developing friendships and accessing mainstream community facilities.

Becoming a volunteer befriender with Greenwich Mencap means developing a friendship with an adult with a learning disability. You need to agree to meet up at least once a month, deciding together what you want to do. Your involvement will enable your friend to feel more included in their community, to have an increased choice of how they spend their leisure time and, most importantly, to feel valued and liked.
