Unlock your creativity, share your story and improve your wellbeing.

Do you have stories to tell but aren’t sure where to start? Write Now is a creative writing workshop for those affected by addiction, whether you’re on your own recovery journey, supporting someone affected by addiction, or just looking to explore something a bit different. This is a space to express yourself and explore the power of words in a welcoming and supportive environment.

Through guided writing exercises, you’ll learn how to craft stories, develop dialogue and structure scripts, all while building a peer support network that encourages growth and wellbeing. No previous writing experience is needed! Whether you’ve written for years or are picking up a pen for the first time, Write Now is a safe space to explore your creativity.

We believe writing can be a powerful tool for personal transformation and improved wellbeing. Our workshops are designed to help you:

Find your voice – Develop your personal style and express yourself through writing.

Build connections – Join a supportive community where you can share stories and foster friendships.

Boost confidence – Gain the self-assurance to tell your story and feel empowered on your recovery journey.

Our workshops not only help you explore your creativity but also provide a safe space to break through the social stigma often associated with addiction. In Write Now, your words have the power to heal, connect and inspire change, both for yourself and others.

After attending at least one session, Write Now participants can sign-up to attend OETC’s Social Activities, such as free Theatre Club and Service User Social Events.

Please contact the OETC office team HERE for the Zoom links for these sessions.

OETC’s Abstinence Policy requires all participants to be abstinent on the day of attendance of any of our activities.
